Newton’s Nook Designs 7th Annual Sweet Treats Blog Hop!
The Newton’s Nook Designs Team is hopping along today to share some great Sweet Treats – just in time for Valentines day! Make sure you scroll down to the bottom of this post to see the whole list and hop along and comment for a chance to win!

I love a good treat box (even more so when it’s super easy to make and it has a lab on it)!
I don’t remember where I originally saw the idea for this box but after I had made a few I started reciting “punch and score at two and four” each time and now that little rhyme sticks in my head and I can make these without having to worry about figuring out measurements or using any special dies.
All you need is a 6×6 piece of paper and an envelope punch board. And then just follow the rhyme and punch and score at two and four!

When you’re done with all the punching and scoring, just fold along all the score lines (or don’t – I’ve tried it both ways and either works). You’re paper should now look like this:

Now just trim flaps like the picture below. It’s pretty forgiving so if you happen to cut the wrong side, you won’t be able to tell once everything is put together. Now is also the time to round the corners of each top flap if you want to and add holes for ribbon. You don’t actually need holes on all four – just two will do. Add some strong adhesive to each flap and you’re ready to assemble!

Once you’re box is assembled, add a favorite image and a sentiment strip (mine are all from the Fetching Friendship set along with the coordinating dies).
And certainly don’t forget to fill it with some treats before you tie the ribbon on top! Anything chocolate is top on my list!
