Welcome back for another day of releases from Newton’s Nook! I think you’ll be *captivated* by today’s product release!

Today’s card was made using images from the new Captivated Kittens stamp set and Petite Clouds stencil:

My usual go-to design is to create a small scene background on my card front (like yesterday’s cards) but sometimes I just want to fill up the whole card front with color!

I started today’s card by creating a “sunset” background on a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. First, I blended the entire background (without the stencil) using just two Distress Oxide colors (Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed). The middle color is created by just letting the two blend together. I also let it fade back to white on the bottom

I then used the stencil to add clouds over the blending using the same ink colors. I trimmed the long sides of the panel (about 1/4″ on each side) and then added it to my card base.

I then stamped, colored and die cut this cute kitten image and added it to my card using foam adhesive. The “happy birthday” sentiment is from the Birthday Essentials set (doesn’t his little kitty bum fit perfectly on the right end of that sentiment?).
