Welcome friends to a bit of an extension from last weeks release fun at Newton’s Nook! Sometimes I have too many ideas to squeeze into that week and I keep them in my memory bank for later.

This time I really wanted to focus on using the “bonus” dies from the Fall Friends coordinating die set. Those little pumpkin and leaf dies were just too cute!

I started by selecting a fall palette from my cardstock scraps and cut both pumpkins and the leaf from each. I then added a little bit of shading using a Copic marker that was a bit darker than the cardstock. I didn’t worry to much about blending – just follow along the stitched detail that already exists in the die.

I then placed the die cuts on a panel cut to 3.75″X 5″ (leaving a space in the center for the sentiment from the Signs of Fall stamp set . Once I was happy with the design, I attached them using foam adhesive.

I finished up by adding the sentiment and some stamped “vines” to fill in any empty spaces.

Such a quick and colorful card with lots of possibilities of variations in color or design!
