Hello for Crafty Meraki

Today I’m sharing a card made with a combination of a few of the new Crafty Meraki stamp sets – Shine On for the floral border and Little Things for the sentiment. I love the Shine On stamp set because the floral images look masked but the work is all done for you!

Quick Tips:

  • I started by embossing the image and sentiment with gold embossing powder on Bristol Smooth cardstock (my favorite paper for blending). This would also look great embossed in white.
  • Using blender brushes, I added color using distress oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire.
  • Once dry, be sure to wipe the embossing using a clean, dry cloth to remove any extra ink.
  • The “hello” die cut from Heffy Doodle is just the right size to fit in the center and anchor the stamped sentiment.

Hello – Taylored Expressions

When I first saw this Pretty Posies Background stamp, my first thought was trying to recreate the look of blue willow china. Sometimes a solid stamp can just be a jumping off point to add more detail!

Quick Tips:

  • I started by stamping the image in a light shade of blue (good options here could be Salt Water Taffy, Sprinkles or Confetti Cake inks from Taylored Expressions.
  • The coloring might look daunting, but it’s really quite simple because you don’t actually need to blend. Just choose three marker shades that work with your base color and add flicks of color. I worked lightest to darkest
  • You could also try this same look with another monochromatic color scheme – pink would be stunning!
  • The “hello” script is from a previous gift with purchase set but the Hello Script die would be a great alternative.

Aloha – Simon Says Stamp

Aloha friends! I’m a sucker for anything beach related so this Tumbling Shells background stamp from Simon Says Stamp was a must buy for me!

While at a craft retreat, I blended multiple backgrounds and this was probably my favorite. It’s a combination of Robin’s Egg, Tattered Rose and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide ink.

After it was dry, I just heat embossed the background stamp with gold embossing powder. Add a sentiment and it’s done!
