Snow Day! CTD#526

What better excuse to craft than being snowed in?  I received these Darice Snowflake Dies as a gift from a sweet friend and I love them!  Once I started, there was no stopping (kind of like the snow outside!).

I started by ink blending a background using Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Ink with Picket Fence Life Changing Brushes.  And you know, they are not kidding about the life-changing part!  From this day forward, I will not blend with anything else.

I finished it off with part of a Lawn Fawn sentiment and a Papertrey Ink “Snow” die.

I had a few leftover snowflakes (and those awesome blending brushes were still on my desk), so the second card was really just made with leftovers.  I just might like it even better.

Finally, I had a bunch of blue cardstock strips on my desk from another project so I used those, along with the negative from all the die cut snowflakes for card #3!  Added a heat embossed sentiment from WPlus9 on vellum so I wouldn’t lose the strips.

Once I started creating this card for the My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge, I realized I was using the colors for this weeks Color Throw Down Challenge too!  I received the paper pad as a gift when staying at Inspiration Inn Bloom (awesome craft retreat if you are near northern Ohio!).

If I knew Joanna Gaines, I would send her this birthday card!  Right?!
