I have two cards to share with you today – as this ended up being a “two for one” situation:

My favorite thing in the amazing box of goodness I received from Therm O Web was the Prince Periwinkle Deco Foil Transfer Sheets! It’s hard to capture the beautiful color and iridescent effect of this foil in pictures but it’s so unique!

Now a little confession – I own a laminator but it’s still in the box (insert sad face). But the good news was, I also had some Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo to try and it doesn’t require heat! I had my doubts if it would work as well without heat but I was thrilled with how well it turned out and how easy it was!

To start out, I decided to use the new Petite Clouds Stencil from Newton’s Nook Designs. I used a pallet knife to spread the gel over the stencil and let it dry overnight (the directions suggested not waiting more than 12 hours but it still worked fine at closer to 24 hours). I just ran it through my Gemini Jr as instructed and voila!! No heat, all the shiny goodness!

I really didn’t want to cover any more of the clouds than I had to, so I just created a simple sentiment banner (from the Banner Trio die set and the Birthday Roundabout stamp set).

I attached the cloud panel to my card base with foam adhesive and did the same with the banner.

My second card happened because I couldn’t imagine throwing away the “leftover” foil after I transferred the clouds onto my original piece. So instead, I just wrapped the foil around a scrap piece of white cardstock gift wrap style. t gives a fun and unexpected texture to your card!

I finished by attaching the wrapped piece to my card front using foam adhesive and just used the same sentiment stamp along the bottom.

I’m a clean and simple creator at heart so I’m fine with these just as they are but these could also serve as fun backgrounds for almost any stamped and die cut images!
