Hello friends and welcome to Day 4 of the Newton’s Nook February release! These last projects are some of my favorites from this release and I’m so excited to share them with you!

My first card uses the new Newton’s Rainy Day stamp set and coordinating die:

I started by visiting my color inspiration board on Pinterest and found this little gem of a combo that was a perfect spring color scheme for these kitties:

• Yellow – Y35, Y08, Y02
• Navy – B99, B97, B95
• Pink – R32, R20, R00
• Aqua – BG11, BG10
• Neutrals are all a mix of warm and neutral grays

To create my stormy background, I used post-it tape to mask the edges of the card front and then used the Cloud Stencil to create the clouds. It’s a little hard to see in the photos, but I also embossed the raindrops from the set on top and added drops of glossy accents to each one.

I finished the card by attaching the die cut images with dimensional adhesive and adding a sentiment center right below it.

Next up is the Daffodils stamp set and an die:

These are so fun and easy to color (I may have gone a little overboard)! I decided to use all of them and create a whole little garden scene. I started with some “dirt” made by using the extra bumpy cloud die from the Sky Borders Die Set cut from dark brown cardstock. I also cut a small slit to tuck in one bunch of daffodils for some extra dimension:

I trimmed the daffodils even with the edge of the card front (don’t throw those pieces away though – I added them towards the top on each side!). I also added some light yellow ink blending at the top of the card for a sunny look.

Finally, I added an embossed sentiment in the dirt to finish this card.
