Hello friends and welcome to Day 1 of the Newton’s Nook April release! This is such a cute release and I’m so excited to share all of the projects I’ve been working on!
All new products for this release will be available for purchase on Friday April 23rd!
My first project uses the new Gnome Garden stamp set and Petite Clouds stencil (plus a little sneak peak at a sentiment set coming later this week):

This is where I have to admit that gnomes aren’t usually my thing, but sometimes when you stretch yourself and try something you normally wouldn’t, you end up with some of your favorite cards!

I started by creating a background for my little gnome friend – I used a masking stencil but you could just as easily cut a round or oval shape with a die set from masking or printer paper.
I used the new Petite Clouds stencil and Versafine ink to stencil the cloud pattern on the top half of the oval. I then heat embossed with white embossing powder.
Once the clouds were ready, I ink blended using Distress Oxide inks (Speckled Egg for the sky gently blended into Vintage Photo for the ground).

Now that the background was ready, I stamped, colored and cut out one of the gnomes from the Gnome Garden set (any of them would work with this same layout – or you could even make a card set). I attached him to the background using foam adhesive.
I finished this card with a sentiment created with a set coming later this week on a banner from the Banner Trio die set.
Next up is a card using the new Bleeding Heart stamp and die sets:

I love how unique this stamp is – I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bleeding heart stamp before (at least I certainly didn’t have one in my collection)!
Since I created a Father’s Day card first, I thought this would be perfect for a Mother’s Day card.

I chose to create the background in the same way just using different products – I used a circle mask rather than an oval and stamped the hearts (from the Heartfelt Love stamp set) with Versafine ink. I embossed with the same white embossing powder and ink blended (this time with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink):

I finished the card by adding a stamped, colored and die cut image from the Bleeding Heart set and a simple sentiment (from that same set you’ll see later this week).
Would you like to win the “Gnome Garden” or the “Bleeding Heart” Stamp Set? We will choose ONE lucky winner for each stamp set!
Here’s how to win: Comment on the NND blog and Design Team blogs (see list below)! The winner will be chosen at random from the collective reveal posts. Make sure to check out each of their blogs and comment for your chance to win. You will not know which blog has been chosen so the more you comment on the better your chances are of winning! You have until Thursday April 22nd at 9pm ET to comment — winners will be announced on the blog post on Friday, April 23rd.
