Hello friends and welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook August release! Cats and Halloween are such a perfect pair so today is Newton’s day to shine!

My first project uses the new Count Newton stamp set and coordinating dies:

I was so in love with the color combination I used to ink blend yesterday’s card, I wanted to use it one more time for a little cemetery scene featuring Newton!

After blending, I die cut a panel using the Frames & Flags die set. I wanted to add a little more dimension on this card, so I also added some hills cut from the Land Border die set. I started by cutting cardstock with the stitched rectangle die I used for the blended panel and then cut the hills and grass so they would have the same stitching detail along the edges.

Now to add some fun elements to our scene:

I stamped and colored the Count Newton image and tombstones and then die cut them and also die cut the coffin shape from black cardstock (it was the perfect fit a few of the sentiments included in this set!). I attached the images to my background using a combination of liquid glue and foam adhesive.

I finished by adding a few bats from the same set directly onto the blended background.

My next card uses Trick or Treat Kittens along with some of my left over stenciled panel from yesterday’s card:

I started by cutting a background from my leftover Candy Corn stencil piece using the Frames Squared die set. I also cut a banner from black cardstock using the Banner Trio die set to help the candy corn piece pop out from the card base.

After adding the background pieces, I used foam adhesive to attach the colored and die cut image from the Trick or Treat Kittens set.

I finished by tucking in a sentiment right along the bottom.
